Why does my success hurt you?

I woke up one morning, recently, and I couldn't shake this feeling. I had just launched the business, but I just had this feeling of "not everyone being that happy for me." Not that you need everyone to be happy for you anyway. Have you ever sensed that, especially from the closest. What's with that?

So, I did a deep dive. Look I'm not a writer, I just love to share my experiences, so bear with me.

Why is it that strangers feel an overwhelming need to support your success, but it's not always that easy for your closest family or friends? Is it that people feel threatened, if so, why? I am progressing, and so that takes something away from them. Perhaps ego and pride, those filthy imbeciles. I have seen this even if people are in completely different professions. I can't move forward, but even if I can see a way for you to progress in your career, I won't help you. Because it takes power away from me over you? Because I fear you having more than me? Success = more, even if it's not quality.

Success is also often measured by materialistic gain. Things we see and touch. Imagine if we all measured success by how we feel? I helped someone and it felt so good. That is success for me too, because it made me happy. It's a win for me too. I think it's more than that though. I can have family that I'm close to but don't always like, so I'm happier to see them not succeed. Because I feel they don't deserve it?

Whether they deserve it or not is irrelevant, maybe they put in the work. Maybe if I remove my barriers, I can see their success for what it is. THEIR success, not MY failure.

I guess it comes down to success being different for everyone. Because we are all different anyway, so it means something different to each one of us.

What is success to you?

How happy are you when others are successful? (Even if they aren't your favorites)

Just some of my thoughts... whatever you do today, I hope you are successful!
